Perfect Roasted Prime Rib

This is my go to for the holidays and this method always comes out amazing.

Remember though, cook to temperature not to time. Ovens vary so always check that internal meat temp.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Prime Rib – Bone in or Out
  • 3-4 TBS Of Course Ground Brown Mustard
  • 1 TBS Ground Ginger
  • 1 TBS Garlic Powder
  • 1 TBS Onion Powder
  • 1 TBS Coriander Ground
  • 1 TBS Ground Comin
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

PREPARE:

  1. Allow the prime rib to come to room temperature on the counter before cooking for 1 hour.
  2. Preheat oven to 500.
  3. Brush prime rib with mustard on all sides.
  4. Press spice mixture into the mustard coating.
  5. Sprinkle with Salt and Pepper.
  6. Place rib in a broiler pan, fat side up.
  7. Roast at 500 for 15 minutes, then turn the temp down to 350 and continue to roast until done to your liking.
  8. 15 min per lb yields rare, 20 per lb yields medium, 25 per lb yields well done.
