Bone Broth Rice

Rice is a staple in our house and this is a great way to jazz it up and bump up the protein and make it a great side dish. This is a weekly go to for us.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 Cups Jasmine or Basmati White Rice
  • 1 Diced Onion Yellow or Sweet Vidalia
  • 1-2 TBS of Butter
  • 3 Cups Bone Broth
  • ½ – ¾ cup of White Wine (any white wine will work) If you leave it out bump up the broth.
  • ½ – ¾ cup of Parmesan Cheese
  • Salt and Trader Joe’s Umami Seasoning to Taste (The umami gives it a little kick and added flavor)
  • 1 TBS of Fresh Parsley
  • Squeeze of lemon juice (optional)

PREPARE:

  1. Sauté onion in butter for about 3 minutes.
  2. Add dry rice and sauté for a few more minutes until it starts to smell nutty. 
  3. Pour wine over and deglaze pan for about 10-30 seconds.
  4. Add broth and seasoning and cover while simmering. Medium to low heat.
  5. When the liquid is almost evaporated, add in cheese and parsley and stir.
  6. Turn off heat and cover and let sit for 5-10 more minutes.
  7. Add lemon juice over top if using once it’s all done and enjoy.
