This is one of those things that is just worth it to make from scratch. This is a family favorite I make often in the cooler months.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 pound of bison (You can use any ground meat but the texture of the bison is the best and will melt in your mouth)
- 3 Ounces of Parmesan Cheese
- 1/4 Cup of Italian Breadcrumbs ( I used GF by Aleias)
- 1 Egg
- 2 Slices of bread with the crusts cut off (I used Aldi’s GF bread)
- 4 Ounces of Milk
- 1/2 – 1 Tsp of Salt
- TBS Butter
- 1 Onion Diced
PREPARE:
- Preheat the oven to 400.
- Saute onion in the butter until softened. Salt while cooking to help break them down and add some flavor.
- Mix onions into bread cut into cubes and add milk. Let sit for a few minutes to soak in the milk.
- Mix all the rest of the ingredients together until well mixed. Do this gently to keep the meatballs from getting tough when cooked.
- Make balls and place on your baking sheet.
- Bake at 400 for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown and the kitchen smells amazing.
- Pour your favorite sauce over them and enjoy.
